Daily Chanter Practice Routine on Technique

Birls, doublings. half-doublings, taorluaths, grips, GDE triplets, tachums
With each movement, play the sequence in slow time,
really controlled and timed, and then again at normal playing speed.

D Throws (light and heavy)
It's personal preference which type of throw you use. Most people stick to one or the other. Some, like myself, like to be able to play both as they can have different effects in different types of tune. You might prefer to use the light version in a slow air and the heavy one in a hornpipe. It all depends on the tune and how well you can play them. The general rule though is not to mix the two styles in the same tune.
